Configure Chrome remote access on the computer

First, you will need to configure Chrome Remote Access. You have to do this on the PC which will act as the host, in other words, which will be remotely controlled by you.

Here are the steps to configure Chrome Remote Desktop access on the computer:

  1. Head to remotedesktop.google.com/access website through Chrome browser.
  2. Click on the Download icon button under the Remote Access section.

  3. Click on Add to Chrome to install the Chrome Remote Desktop Extension.

  4. Click on the Accept and install button.

  5. Type for enter a name for your PC computer, and click following.

  6. You will now have to choose a PIN code, six digits or more, and press Start.
    Make sure to create a strong password consisting of alphanumeric strings and reconfirm the same PIN code.

Access your PC remotely from the phone

Now that the initial setup is complete, let’s continue with the instructions for controlling your PC through the second device, which in this case is a smartphone. However, the steps below will also work in the event that your second device is a PC.

Here are the steps to access and control the PC from a mobile phone:

  1. Go to the Play Store and download the Chrome remote desktop app on your Android device.
    IPhone users can download it from App store.
  2. Install and launch the Chrome Remote Desktop app.
  3. If necessary, sign in with the same Google account which is configured with a Chrome computer.
    You will see your laptop name in the My Computers section.

  4. Press the computer online apparatus.
  5. Enter the PIN code that you had set up in the previous section.

  6. Hit it Connect button and the connection should be established within seconds.

You can now directly control your host from this second device (which in this case is a smartphone).

In addition, you will be notified of the connection on your desktop via an overlay menu. As and when you need to terminate this connection, you just need to click on the Stop sharing button.
