Enabling Dark Space in Microsoft Edge (2020)

 

One of the key features of the recent update to Google Chrome (version 78) was the ability to enable forced mode for websites that do not have a dark version by default. And if you have a Microsoft Edge based on Chromium, this feature will turn on dark mode in the Microsoft Edge browser.

Dark space is one feature I use a lot, especially at night because it puts less strain on my eyes. In addition, you will have more battery life if you have a phone with an OLED / AMOLED display

There are different ways to enable dark mode in Microsoft Edge for different operating systems. That’s why I’ve put together a list of all the methods that will guide how you can take the dark mode on the Edge of Microsoft Windows, Android and iOS.

How do I enable dark mode on all Microsoft Edge websites?

Just like Google Chrome, this feature needs to be enabled with an experimental flag. So let’s get started.

Phase 1: Open Microsoft Edge and paste the following address into your browser’s address bar.

Step 2: Now you see “Force dark space for web content” with Supposition option enabled. Click on it now and a list of options will appear and select In use option.

Step 3: Restart A pop-up window will appear and after restarting it will appear.

If you don’t like the dark mode feature, you can repeat from Phase 1 and select Disabled option

There are other options as well, such as Enabled simple HSL-based inversion, CIELAB-based inversion, RGB-based inversion, selective image inversion, selective non-pixel inversion, and selective inversion of everything. You can try one by one to choose the one that works best for you.

Keep in mind that this feature isn’t perfect yet, so some websites may look weird to you, but it works well.

How do I enable the dark space theme in Microsoft Edge?

If you want only the browser interface to be in dark mode. So here is a guide.

Phase 1: Open Microsoft Edge and go settings -> Appearance.

Step 2: On the right you can see Theme below Customize your browser.

How do I enable the Dark Mode theme in Microsoft Edge for Android?

Phase 1: Open Microsoft Edge and go settings -> Appearance -> Theme.

How do I enable the dark mode theme in the iOS version of Microsoft Edge?

Phase 1: Open Microsoft Edge and go settings -> Theme.
